Change your Filters

April 14th-22th So I am eating my words here are the latest llama gift-giver features:

Went to Costco & since I have downgraded to a smaller purse I just hang my camera on the outside by it's straps. The "greeter" at the door stopped me & told me  "No camera allowed in the store" & informed me I had to take it back out to the car, so I unhook it & hand it to my husband to take it back out (as he has the keys). Another employing thinking it was a different matter, came running & offered to ticket it for me (he placed a yellow sticker with a date on it) & handed it back to me with a smile.  The initial "greeter" yells after us "you BETTER NOT take any pictures" ...
so much for downloading photos right off my camera onto their print machine which I HAVE thought of doing as it can't read my discs (not compatible).

What next, no cell phones allowed, as most are equipped with cameras. Mine is!
Were they worried I was going to start forwarding emails with photos of "People who shop at Costco?" or maybe take photos of the sale price on the shelf then demand that they give me the one that was posted instead of the one that rang up (I've never had this happen at Costco but I have at other retail places) & since I am dyslexic & so forgetful (I do often double & triple check & still manage to forget..."Did it say 2 for $4 or 4 for $2/"); to avoid the anxiety I DO take photos of sale markers which I later delete.

The truth is I often photograph stuff when I shop (esp. for the kids) when I am unsure of whether they like the colors or style of a dress/clothes/shoes/slippers etc. or when I know they are searching for something for instance a gift for their friends... I say "They have this at this store & this one at this other place". Saves them time & I don't mind helping out. Plus, it's like shopping together though we are miles apart.
On Mother's Day, BD, & Christmas I send them photos of what I want so I don't end up with 4 toasters.

My husband was so pissed off he was like that's it we are changing memberships to Sam's Club even if we have to drive further.

April 8th Just like you must change your filters once a month to keep your furnace working properly, you should  change your passwords regularly on this site.  If you have given away any llamas (I deleted the message without reading it, but to my knowledge) this REQUIRED you to GIVE your password. With that in mind, it is time to change your password, if you haven't already done so! Of course, I am aware that most of you will think me paranoid as this was a dA sanctioned promo, but just to be on the safe side it won't hurt you to change your password.

If you have been on this site long enough, you must remember how "they" (hackers) once had you thinking you had accidentally logged out of your page/friend's page & it told you to "enter your password" to log back on & then it turned out it was a dummy account & someone else now had control of your account (& account information). After that they started adding the "there are MONSTERS out there to every outgoing link", which is a good thing.

To date, I have received 22 llamas & have given away NONE; why cause I am STILL waiting to see of what value they are/have? Plus, to be honest I hate giving out my password for any reason. Is this just another feel good thing from dA.   If so, am hoping "Friends are Friends", & "Family is Family" whether I give them a " llamas" or not. With that being said & probably misinterpreted (thinking I am ungrateful) "Thank you to the several friends (& a few strangers????) that gave me llamas,"

Which always leads me to the question "Why would people you have never had any communication with before give you llamas????"Come to think of it, "Why do people watch you & never fave or comment on anything?" It is ODD.


******Do wish that instead of all the time & effort they put into this LLama giveaway & April Fools joke, they had disable the right click instead& done something about the art theft that goes on in this site.

Was on my user page & saw some artwork I had faved a long time ago, so went to take a look to see if the artist had submitted anything NEW & on his journal he mentioned he was having trouble with Trojan horses &  how he was fed up with it....& I noticed all the icons in his journal (Plus his own) still had the April Fools gag on them even though it was several days later (April 5, I believe). Then I remembered I had gone to a few other pages earlier (while Browsing) that day & seen others who still had the "Lady Gaga", "Team Eduard'' etc. showing up as their icons...at 1st I thought maybe they just liked it so much they decided to keep them but NOW I wonder: "Why their icons are STILL being affected?"  & "If I come across anymore of these who do I report them to?"

For those of you who don't remember "How to change your password":

Go to your profile page.
click on the button "More " which is next to the "Submit Art" button (under the llamas)
Scroll down to "Edit Settings"
Go to square that says
"Change Password"
Type in new password underneath old one
Type it again (remember it accurately)
Then click "Okay" at the bottom of the page.

NOTE this is also the page you can block other dA users at , just go to the "Block users box".
Type in their dA name... (just the name, no colons, icons or symbols)
You can only block one person at a time & must hit the "okay" button after each submission.
Is there a limit to how many people you can block from your page? I guess I will soon find out.

One of the latest people I blocked was  "artsnack" he faved something of mine so I went to his page & his journal said something to the effect of  "if you see something popping up in your screen it is because your computer is being attacked". Was he just joking, was he just trying to scare people ...don't know, don't care. Though nothing was popping up on MY screen, I blocked him & haven't returned to his page since.  Some people are just jerks!
