Had my son take pictures for me from the Carrick-a-rede Rope bridge. He was brave enough to lean over once he got to the tiny fishing island & take some great shots of the kittiwakes that were nesting on the rocky ledges. This is my painting of life on the edge bird style.

What's interesting about kittiwakes is that they built their nests on cliffsides, they will not leave a nest even if humans are present & they are the only gulls to dive/swim underwater to catch fish.

I do seem to love outlining things. It seems to segment things better. I go through phases of doing thin, then remember I am not suppose to & stop.

The cliffs were very difficult for me to do... all those angles going in different directions. Until I outlined them i just couldn't see them in my brain. It's this outline that gives it the stain glass effect. Basically a handicap used as an enhancement.
The birds were easy, soft little fluffy things with lots of curves.
