The very nice quiet neighbors, have their family over & they must have maxed out the credit cards, cause they have been popping fireworks even before the sun went down & they are still going strong.

We had had a fire in the alley, the day before; so I was terrified they'd start another one with everything being so dry; so I was outside keeping a watchful eye. Then decided taking pictures might make the time go faster & it did.
Well, that worked out well, then. Yes, we always have the fire dept overworked on the 4th because it is often before the real rains have started so is quite dry. At least, you got some good shots!
During Halloween a firework exploded right over our roof, which happens to have my two windows in it. I was less than impressed and damn things are illegal too.
They started early. I was very surprised & they kept at it until midnight. They must have spent a bundle.
Thank you for the fav. on this one. I wasn't sure whether to title it Angel or Statue of Liberty they both seemed appropriate.
Nice capture Gloria! I am afraid I was in my house muttering as fireworks were flying for more hours than I care to remember. Hope your neighbors are finally done they finished here some time after midnight but I am sure there will be some later there usually is! Hope you can get some sleep.
I was out there at 8 PM watering everything down, then when it kept on going & some were landing on the house; I went back out again & wet even the roof of the garage (just in case) & the house where I could reach & socked the compost piles. he water bill comes in....
Talked to the man in charge of the display this morning. He was out by 8AM, cleaning up the mess the fireworks had created. I told him my concerns, & he reassured me they had everything under control... several large fire extinguishers, spotters to stomp out any that landed still ignited.
He said he'd be back next yr. ( a family tradition) & if I wanted he would place someone directly in the yard to keep an eye on the place. He said they had a rule of never going past mid-night, which is exactly when it stopped. At 12:45 I crawled into bed, at 1:30 the fire trucks woke us up ...not coming here thankfully, at 4:30 the alarm rang; at 5 AM I crawled out of bed. I think even if they light fireworks tonight, I am so exhausted I'll probably sleep right through.
These fireworks were all exploding right above Moos room. We all had to be up by 5 AM.

Now my fear is the water bill...
